Success for Heidi and Matthew in the Grant Thornton and Monaghan Institute Collaborative Competition

Congratulations to Monaghan Institute Business students Heidi McCrudden and Matthew Skeath who are the winners of the inaugural collaborative competition with the Institute’s Business groups and Grant Thornton, Ireland.

The Business students participated in the Grant Thornton sponsored competition by creating a self-endorsing, professional ‘Personal Statement’ about their skills (vocational, personal and life), career goals and progression plans, entitled “I have what it takes….”.

Heidi and Matthew’s winning entries were commemorated in a recent virtual presentation where the professionalism of the Monaghan Institute learners was acknowledged by Janette Maxwell, Associate Director in the Tax Department at Grant Thornton. Janette was impressed by the research completed, the creativity and the talented presentation of Heidi and Matthew’s statements. The future is looking very bright for both these young Business learners.

Monaghan Institute wishes to thank Grant Thornton Ireland for the opportunity extended to our Business classes (Level 5 & Level 6) through this competition. Grant Thornton has seven offices located across the island of Ireland, however their staff are even more widespread across Ireland. This includes some of their key taxation staff like Monaghan natives Janette and the Head of Tax Bernard Doherty whose work is primarily focused in the Monaghan region.
