Monaghan Institute’s “Metre of Meadow” Initiative Flourishes
Monaghan Institute’s dedication to environmental matters continues to grow with the success of its “Metre of Meadow” initiative. Launched in May 2023, this project has transformed sections of the campus into vibrant wildflower spaces, fostering biodiversity and enhancing the beauty of the institute’s surroundings. The ‘Metre of Meadow’ challenges schools to find a green space in their school environment, which they can allow to grow and develop without any tending or maintenance.
Since its inception, the meadow has blossomed into a picturesque landscape, adorned with a colourful array of blooms that now attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. This flourishing ecosystem reflects Monaghan Institute’s commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation.
