Monaghan Institute Graduate Hazel Creaney is Awarded ‘Sought-After’ Scholarship

Monaghan Institute student Hazel Creaney was recently awarded a Uversity Higher Education Scholarship.

Uversity is a registered organisation to enable adult learners to pursue a college degree for the first time.  The organisation provides funding and educational supports for adult learners. Their main objective is to alleviate the financial barriers that may prevent adult learners, aged 23 and over, from achieving a bachelor’s degree. Uversity also provide mentorships, workshops and peer support for scholars and provide recipients with the tools to achieve their educational and personal ambitions.

A single parent to a now 4-year-old, Hazel decided to return to education in 2021 and completed Level 5 and Level 6 Applied Social Studies course in Monaghan Institute.

Hazel is now pursuing the Level 7 Health and Social Studies degree course by ATU Donegal which is hosted in Monaghan Institute with the support of Uversity funding and plans to progress to the Level 8 Health and Social Studies degree and beyond.
