Monaghan Institute Mad Skydivers fundraise for Make-A-Wish Ireland
Eight courageous staff members from Monaghan Institute, known as the MI Mad Skydivers, took fundraising to new heights, leaping from over 11,000 feet recently, and raising an impressive €4,412 for Make-A-Wish Ireland.
The high-adrenaline skydive was inspired by a moving visit earlier this year from Daire Gorman, a local Make-A-Wish recipient. Daire shared his personal story with students and staff at Monaghan Institute, highlighting how the charity brings hope and joy to children facing life-threatening illnesses. His visit sparked a wave of generosity and inspired the skydiving challenge.
“Daire’s story reminded us all of the real impact this charity has,” said one of the skydivers. “It gave us the motivation to do something bold and meaningful.”
The MI Mad Skydivers’ leap was met with cheers and support from the those within the college and the community at large. Combined with funds raised during Daire’s visit, the initiative has made a significant contribution to Make-A-Wish Ireland’s mission of granting magical wishes to children across the country.
The team expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported their efforts. “Every euro raised helps bring a smile to a child’s face when they need it most,” they said.
