Modernise and Master New Skills by Returning to Education at Monaghan Institute

Let Monaghan Institute, your local further education college, be the pivotal steppingstone in determining your future career. We offer learners who are aged over 23, a diverse range of full-time QQI Level 5 & 6 course opportunities, in a range of categories, which are available to everyone – regardless of age, background or your level of education so far.

We appreciate that many people might have left school early or were unable to achieve their full potential due to financial, social or family pressures so are committed to having strong services in place to assist you in returning to study, including IT assistance, assignment writing supports and guidance/career counselling.

In addition, there are two special schemes which exist that may allow applicants who are receiving certain social welfare benefits to attend an approved full time course and continue to receive payments. These schemes are the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) and the Back to Education Allowance Scheme (BTEA). Further information about both are available on our website: www.monaghaninstitute.ie/funding.

There are many personal rewards for adults retuning to education. We will help you to modernise and master new skills, building the confidence needed to pursue and skills to compete for new employment opportunities or to continue your learning path to colleges/universities in Ireland or further afield. Remember! Mature students may not need to have the usual academic entry requirements as consideration is given to your life and work experience.
