Animal Welfare class at Monaghan Institute

On Wednesday 10th October Sam Rochford and his wife Anne from Navan visited Monaghan Institute. He presented a raven, a buzzard, 6 owls, Harris hawk, and 2 ferrets to the Level 5 Animal Care group. This encounter was part of the Animal Welfare module.

Sam has a wealth of knowledge and spoke passionately about the birds. He explained the dietary requirements, husbandry, where they originated and many more interesting facts and stories about each bird. The group thoroughly enjoyed this visit and would like to thank Sam and Anne for a wonderful experience.
