Monaghan Institute Pre-University Arts Graduates Progress to Highly Sought-after Degree Programmes
93% of Pre-University Arts Graduates from last year have secured places on highly sought-after Degree courses throughout the country, having completed one year of study with us.
Katie Boyle who has successfully progressed to study Primary School Teaching in Stranmillis University, Belfast describes her experience in MI last year: “Last year was a whirlwind for everyone, for me personally everything felt like it was falling apart and the path I thought I was going to take had completely changed due to my calculated grades in the Leaving Certificate not being what were true to me. Going to Monaghan Institute has been one of the best decisions of my life.
They have given me confidence, a support system, and a platform to show what I can actually achieve. The support from MI was second to none, it was very personal. By completing the QQI Level 5 Pre-University Arts course, I now have secured my place in Stranmillis University to study primary school teaching in one of the top UK universities. The Leaving Cert isn’t everything it is made out to be, there is always another pathway for you to follow and this was mine.”
Samantha Brennan who has successfully progressed to University College Cork to complete a L8 Arts Degree, specialising in English Literature and Asian Studies discusses her experience in MI: “I studied Pre-University Arts in Monaghan Institute last year which made me more confident about moving on to my Degree programme. I loved every second in MI and will now be recommending it to anyone considering Further Education. The tutors are supportive and encouraging, helping you every step of the way.”
Derbhla Treanor who has successfully progressed to the Level 8 Bachelor of Music Degree at NUI Maynooth, adds: “I am delighted to have received my first choice Round One CAO offer for Level 8 Bachelor of Music at NUI Maynooth. Completing the Pre-University Arts programme was probably the best decision I ever made for myself. I definitely would not be going to NUI Maynooth without the help and guidance I received throughout my year in MI.”
This is just a small sample of the many MI students progressing to Third Level this September. Learners can secure a Level 5 or a Level 6 QQI major award by doing a PLC course at MI and then use this qualification to apply to the Degree Programme of choice. Third Level Colleges reserve a number of places each year for students applying via the QQI route.
Congratulations to all MI graduates as they continue their pathway to their future career.
If you are a current Leaving Certificate student who did not achieve your preferred Degree programme or are not ready to move away from home this year, why not consider a one-year link PLC course in Monaghan Institute?
