Monaghan Institute Graduate Flying High

Congratulations to our past student Jasmine Murray who has recently been appointed as Cabin Crew with Ryanair.  Jasmine, from Donegal, attended Monaghan Institute where she completed the QQI Level 5 course, Tourism and Travel with Cabin Crew Training.  It has always been a dream for Jasmine to train and work as a cabin crew member.

The first hurdle in the Cabin Crew recruitment process is the airline interview stage, which is highly competitive. Jasmine credits completing this course in Monaghan Institute to her success in the Ryanair interview stage. ‘My time in Monaghan Institute helped me greatly as our tutor Melanie Keith discussed airline interview preparation and the importance of appearance and grooming’.

Jasmine explains ‘Once I passed the interview, the next stage was the Ryanair training course in which I achieved very high marks.  The theory and practical elements I learned in Monaghan Institute helped me immensely during the airline training, as I had already gained specific knowledge of the role of cabin crew, daily procedures and the skills needed.’

Students in MI also engage in training in a mock aircraft.  ‘From taking part in practical training together with training in a mock aircraft, I had knowledge of aircraft layout and carrying out safety demonstrations.  This was invaluable to me during my Ryanair training. I realise that the Tourism course in Monaghan Institute has been a great advantage and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a career in Cabin Crew.  I am delighted to be starting my dream job’.

Applications are currently open for the QQI Level 5 course Tourism and Travel with Cabin Crew Training, which begins this September.  Learn more about our Tourism Course and apply online now
