MI’s Men’s GAA Team are Top of the League

On Thursday 25th Oct Monaghan Institute’s Men’s GAA team completed the group stages of the Electric Ireland Higher Education Division 4 league, with a comprehensive 3-19 to 8 pts win away to Carlow College of Further Education in Tinryland.  In a tight first half, the team led 2-9 to 0-7 points. The men took control of the second half with an impressive footballing display, scoring an additional 1-10 with only 1 point in reply.  The team can now look forward with confidence to the All Ireland Quarter Final on November 14, venue and opposition to be confirmed.

Team and scorers were: Christopher Mc Dermott, Matthew Campbell, James Mallen, Daniel Tomany 0-1, Blaine Smith, Shane Mc Mahon, Francis Mc Mahon 1-2, John Mulligan  0-3, Tommy Gehan  1-6, Cillian Gartlan  1-2, Matthew Sweeny, Shane Askin  0-4, Brandon Keena 0-1, Dermot Lennon, Tiernan Cassidy Finnegan, Jake Farrelly and Dylan Ryan.
