Coveted NUI Galway Degree places secured by Monaghan Institute students

Three students have secured places on highly sought after courses in NUIG after graduating from Monaghan Institute with a QQI L5 Business Award.

Pictured left to right are students Nicolae Bobcoc, Dawid Jarosinski and Samatha Dzanuska in NUIG to begin their degree studies in the Business department.

Dawid Jarosinski and Samanta Dzanuska have been offered the only 2 places available for QQI applicants on the B Commerce (Global Experience) degree. This course is 509 CAO points, however these students obtained their place by achieving distinctions in all their modules on the QQI Business Level 5 Award.

Nicolae Boboc has secured his first choice place on the Bachelor of Law and Business which was 436 CAO points. All three students are past pupils of Beech Hill College and have commended the education and support they received in Beech Hill College and Monaghan Institute in helping them secure their first choice preference courses.

This is just an example of the many Monaghan Institute students progressing to Third Level Institutes this September. The Higher Education Links Scheme provides progression opportunities for learners who are studying courses in Monaghan Institute and are interested in applying for Degree Programme’s through the CAO. Learners can secure a Level 5 or a Level 6 QQI major award by doing a PLC course and then use this qualification to apply to their Degree Programme of choice. Third Level Colleges reserve a number of places each year for students applying via the PLC route.

Students, if you have not secured your CAO preference course this year, consider a one year L5 programme with us. Our applications are still open. Browse all our courses and apply now online
