6th March 2017 Fantasy Hair Show
Our second year Hairdressing students got the opportunity, as part of their Level 2 City and Guilds course, to showcase a highly creative and imaginative side to Hairdressing this week. They took part in a fantasy styling project, based on a chosen theme, and organised a photo shoot of the event to showcase their creative talents.
This is just one of the many aspects of the course, which enables graduates to follow a range of career paths. The qualifications on the two year course include: QQI Hairdressing Level 5, City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing and Junior and Senior Hairdressing Trades. These qualifications are internationally recognised and as well as gaining successful employment in recognised salons locally, graduates can travel anywhere in the world working in the Tourism and Leisure industry. Along with excellent hair skills, graduates from Hairdressing can also progress to a career in fashion and styling.
Students enjoy a learning environment with top of the range modern salon facilities at Monaghan Institute that are open to the public from Monday to Wednesday, 9.30am-1pm each week. Cutting, colouring, highlighting, blow drying, up styling are among the services on offer. Students learn and practice to a high standard the fundamentals of their trade, under the expert guidance of tutors Caroline Nelson and Clodagh Mc Kenna. Call the college anytime and book an appointment to get your hair done.
