Embracing New Opportunities: My Journey Back to Education at Monaghan Institute, by Mary Hackett
Returning to college as a mature student was daunting, but it was something I had always kept in the back of my mind. However, I decided to take the plunge and register for an QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Applied Social Studies at Monaghan Institute. Looking back, it was the best decision I could have made.
The first few weeks were challenging, but with the support of the incredible tutors, I pushed through. They were so friendly and helpful, and I am truly grateful for all their guidance. This course not only gave me valuable insights but also equipped me with the knowledge I needed to pursue a career I was passionate about.
Throughout the year of study, I gained both confidence and competence in the field of social studies. As a result, I was able to secure a job that I love. Without taking that first step and enrolling in MI, none of this would have been possible.
Now, I am completing the Level 7 degree in Health and Social Studies with ATU, Letterkenny which is also hosted at Monaghan Institute. I am excited to see what the future holds with this qualification behind me. I am so thankful for the resources, support, and dedicated tutors at Monaghan Institute. They have played such a big role in helping me reach this point.
For those considering further education, don’t overthink it—just go for it! So many doors will open for you. I honestly cannot recommend it enough. Make the most of your future with Monaghan Institute.
